F1 to float?

(GMM) F1 could be shaping up to float on the stock market.

'The Business Online' publication described the sport's two new board appointments, Peter Brabeck-Letmathe and Sir Martin Sorrell, as 'some serious City muscle'.

It is claimed that such appointments 'can only point to one conclusion'.

''All the signs point to the best ingredients being assembled for (an initial public offering),'' the report said.

F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone would not be drawn on his plans, however, as he insisted that the appointments were made 'to keep the car manufacturers happy'.
