RuSPORT to hold driver shootout

UPDATE "The team will test three drivers with an eye toward the final two races of this year," RuSPORT Jeremy Dale told AutoRacing1.com. "We will evaluate all three, but no promises for a ride have been made, so I would not characterize it as a shootout."

When asked whether or not the driver chosen would also be the driver for 2007 Dale said, "Don't be too fast to dismiss Cristiano da Matta, we don't know how fast he will recover, but at the same time we have to have an eye toward 2007, so yes it could be the same driver, but not necessarily."

09/23/06 Word in the Champ Car paddock is that RuSPORT will hold a driver shootout to replace the injured Cristiano da Matta in a private test at Sebring starting Wednesday.
