Kubica on track for 2007 seat
Reports suggest that Kubica, 21 – who replaced BMW-Sauber Jacques Villeneuve as of the Hungarian grand prix in August – is heading for the ride in 2007 despite the team's insistence that a decision is not yet made.
The spokesman said: ''We will make an announcement at the end of the season.''
Team principal Mario Theissen, however, enthused about Kubica and indicated that he is doing a good job alongside contracted 2007 race driver Nick Heidfeld.
''We put Robert in the car,'' said the German, ''and I think it helped the entire team, including Nick, to improve.
''Unfortunately I said at the start of the season that I would confirm our drivers at the end of the season so I have to stick to that. There is no other reason behind it.''
The spokesman also denied separate rumors that Hinwil-based BMW-Sauber could revert to the simpler name 'BMW' in 2007.
''No name change is planned,'' he added.
