Alonso sees hope in rivals’ tires

(GMM) The last skerrick of hope for Renault's off-the-pace Fernando Alonso at Suzuka was the appearance of worrying blisters after qualifying on the Bridgestone tires of his rival, Michael Schumacher.

The Michelin-shod Spaniard was spotted checking out the tires of other Bridgestone cars in parc ferme on Saturday.

But he admitted to reporters that Ferrari's 'graining' often clears up during a long-run, 'so I don't think we can be too optimistic because of that'.

Alonso noted: ''But our tires looked a lot better than theirs.''
