Pizzonia back to Champ Car

UPDATE #5 Rocketsports tells us that the Speedtv.com report was in error. Pizzonia is only signed for Australia right now.

10/10/06 Speedtv.com reports that Pizzonia will be back with Rocketsports the final two races of this season in Australia and Mexico City.

"I’m glad to be invited by Rocketsports to drive once again, and I accepted the challenge of getting to know a new circuit and help with the team’s development," said the 26-year-old. “Street circuits are usually narrow and short, but Surfers seems to be wide and long, so it’s going to be a new experience for me."

Mario Dominguez was previously announced as the other driver for Rocketsports.

08/23/06 This Hot News item is the official announcement on Pizzonia.

08/22/06 It has been reported in the Brazilian media today that Antonio Pizzonia will indeed drive the Rocketsports Champ Car in Montreal this weekend. We await the formal announcement.

08/19/06 Now hearing Pizzonia is coming over to drive for Rocketsports in Montreal, not RuSPORT. Pizzonia drove for Rocketsports in Long Beach earlier this year.

08/19/06 According to AutoRacing1.com sources Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia is on his way over to the USA to test for either RuSPORT or Rocketsports, but our source is fairly confident it is to replace the injured Cristiano da Matta.
