Pescarolo could quit over rules
Henri Pescarolo is said to be steaming mad and may quit the LMES and ALMS because when the ACO issued their rules changes for 2007 they did not take away the rules advantage that Pescarolo claims the diesel powered cars had over the gasoline powered car. However, because diesel contains 10% more energy per gallon than gasoline, the ACO reduced the fuel tank size of the diesel powered cars 10% to 81 gallons.
This not enough according to Pescarolo, who felt that the diesel cars should be given a weight penalty. Pescarolo issued the following statement:
“The president of the ACO, in front of witnesses, made me the promise after the last 24 Hours, that this equivalence would be re-examined. What they did with the new rules is scandalous. It's as if they take me for an imbecile. I will publish in the next days an open-letter with technical evidence to support my position. Some regard me as a spoilsport. This is ridiculous!"
