Brawn announcement due this week
Widespread paddock speculation insists that the Englishman is set to follow Michael Schumacher into retirement – or at least take a so-called 'sabbatical' – but, asked whether reporters would see him at Albert Park next March, Brawn told 'Premiere': "I hope so.
"We will make an announcement this week."
The 'announcement' is a scheduled outlining of Ferrari's personnel structure for the future.
Brawn also said in Sao Paulo that he believed Schumacher's race-thwarting tyre puncture had been caused by contact with Giancarlo Fisichella, whose teammate Fernando Alonso sealed the '06 title.
"(Michael) was then 70 seconds behind," Brawn explained, "but his recovery was very impressive.
"Even if he could not win his last race, his race today was fantastic and I think a lot of people will not forget it."
