BMW eyes Glock
(GMM) 2006 GP2 racer Timo Glock will test in Spain for BMW-Sauber in November and December, the German squad confirmed on Tuesday.
In a statement, Hinwil based BMW-Sauber said the 24-year-old German – who raced and tested for Jordan in 2004 – would run at both the Barcelona and Jerez sessions.
Glock's earlier scheduled tests had to be postponed after he injured his hand in the GP2 race at Monza.
"We have kept a close eye on Timo since his successful time in formula BMW and are now keen to get a more accurate impression," team boss Mario Theissen said in the email.
BMW-Sauber has already confirmed German teenager Sebastian Vettel in the full time test seat for 2007, but many top teams – including Ferrari, McLaren and Toyota – have popularized the trend of employing a second development driver.
