GKN may buy some pieces of Visteon
GKN PLC, a Britain-based supplier of technology that transmits rotational power to a vehicle's wheels, said Friday it has entered into exclusive discussions with Visteon Corp. to buy Visteon's European and South American businesses.
The possible acquisitions involve Visteon's driveline business and plants in Düren, Germany; Praszka, Poland, and Swansea, Wales. Driveline assets at a plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil, also are included. Total revenue of these businesses is about $380 million.
Shares of Van Buren Township-based Visteon closed Friday at $8.59, down a penny. It engineers and manufactures climate, interior, electronic and lighting products.
