5 new drivers eye Atlantic series

Star Mazda champion Adrian Carrio, Italy’s Giacomo Ricci, the 2006 F3000 Italian Euro champion, Formula BMW USA 2006 champion and Red Bull driver Robert Wickens, American John Edwards, another member of the Red Bull driver development program along with Wickens, and Ireland’s Patrick Hogan, who’s distinguished himself most recently in World Series by Renault and British Formula Renault competition, all tested within 3/10ths of a second of each other in two days of testing with the Forsythe Champ Car Atlantic team at Thunderhill this week. All were fast and all hope to be in the Atlantic series in 2007…..which shapes up to be another stellar year for the Champ Car feeder series. With $2M on the line to the champion, this series is now drawing some of the best young talent from around the world. See related testing article.
