Honda might run ‘green’ livery for 2007

(GMM) Japanese F1 team Honda could be planning to race in a green livery next year, the London based magazine Marketing Week says.

An article read: "(The team's) makeover may involve changing its livery to green, according to one source."

The green paint job may be linked to an overhaul of Honda's environmental policy, therefore making green a powerful marketing strategy for the future, the magazine added.

Not since 2004, when Jaguar pulled out of the sport, has a team raced in green.

Honda's marketing is managed by the innovative company '19 Entertainment', whose founder Simon Fuller created the Pop Idol spinoffs and the Spice Girls.

Honda team principal Nick Fry hinted recently that the 2007 livery, to fill the void left by departing title sponsor Lucky Strike, will be a "surprise".

"You will not see a car covered in Honda logos, it will be something very different," he said.
