DTM frontrunner eyes F1

(GMM) DTM driver Bruno Spengler says his "dream" is to one day line up on the F1 grid.

The Canadian, who won four races in 2006 and finished the season second overall in the premier German touring car series, will return to the DTM paddock next year.

But Spengler, 23, told the German portal racing1.de: "My dream is definitely formula one, but I always think only from year to year.

"Next year I will concentrate fully on the DTM — I feel very comfortable there and will again try to win races and become the champion.

"What comes afterwards, I will have to wait."

Spyker's Christijan Albers and Gary Paffett, who is a McLaren tester, are the DTM's most notable graduates to formula one.
