Alex Labbe Moving Up To NASCAR Xfinity For 2018

Alex Labbe, the current NASCAR Pinty’s Series Champion will be competing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, at the wheel of the Kappa-Cyclops Gear-Wholey Seafood No. 36 Chevrolet from the AM Prime Racing Team.
AM Prime Racing, a new team, has been created by Alain Mounir to support Alex Labbe as he tackles his rookie season in the Xfinity Series. Mounir is also the owner of GoFAS Racing, the team that took Alex Labbe to the 2017 driver championship in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. Veteran Crew Chief Mario Gosselin will direct team operations. His experience as a two-time Championship-winning Crew Chief in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series will add the expertise necessary to produce the best possible results from of the team, the equipment and rookie Xfinity driver Alex Labbe.
Alain Mounir, the owner of AM Prime Racing, was delighted with this development: “I have been putting a lot of thought and energy into this project, this dream of mine to bring an All-Canadian team to the highest level of NASCAR and this move to the Xfinity Series is a major step forward. We have now assembled the team that we needed : Key motivated partners, a driver competitive at the top levels, a technical team and the equipment to allow us to reach those top levels, and the passion necessary to put in the work to achieve our goals. In addition to moving up with Alex Labbe to the 2018 Xfinity Series this year with AM Prime Racing, Mounir and his GoFAS Racing team will participate in the full Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with driver Matt Di Benedetto in the No. 32 GoFAS Ford. Things do not stop there, as the team have also entered a car in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, with French driver Romain Ianetta.
Labbe and the team will start the 33-race Xfinity season on February 17, at the Daytona International Speedway.
