Spare parts was not an issue for IndyCar test

After several teams complained Friday that they didn’t have any spare parts for the new aero kit at this weekend’s IndyCar Open Test at ISM Raceway, Dallara CEO Stefano dePonti contended that’s not entirely accurate.

DePonti took Autoweek to the company’s transporter in the IndyCar paddock at the 1.022-mile short oval and showed extra parts on hand in case teams needed them over the weekend. DePonti said there were enough parts on the trailer for two to three cars.

“We came here with parts," dePonti told Autoweek. “Progressively, every week we are building parts and delivering parts and partial kits. Our target is for everybody to have the sufficient parts and enough spare parts before the season starts at St. Pete."
