Gerald Tyler to make a return?
Now, is Alan Sciuto, Americas most dominant force in karting and a rising open wheel star the next "done deal" with Gelles Racing? Stay tuned…….
08/22/05 To Clarify and correct this rumor – Last season (2004) Tonis Kasemets obtained information from Gerald Tyler concerning set-ups, especially about Road America. Mr. Tyler's plan was a very good starting point in '04. We genuinely appreciate what we received from Mr. Tyler. We know Gerald is very talented, we used his set-up in 2004, but many things have changed this season, i.e. shock absorbers and aero, amongst other changes implemented by the Toyota Atlantic Series. This years Road America car set-up was developed exclusively by Tonis Kasemets and Alan O'Leary. Statement from the team 08/21/05 We have it on good authority that polesitter (by a comfortable margin) for Sunday's Toyota Atlantic race at Road America, Tonis Kasemets, is using set up information obtained from Gerald Tyler, who in his last appearance at Road America as Dorricott Racing's Team Technical Director and race engineer for Luis Diaz had his cars go 1,2,3 with Diaz winning, series Champion Jon Fogarty in 2nd and Alex Gurney 3rd … As Champ Car's momentum and the Champ Car Atlantic series heats up for next year, might Gerald Tyler who dominated with both Dorricott Racing in Indy Lights and Atlantics and RuSPORT in Atlantics, winning three consecutive championships, be back in open wheel in the new Champ Car Atlantic Series? … Only time will tell … We certainly would not want to be on any team and have to run against him!!! Especially with a 2 million dollar prize and a guaranteed Champ Car ride on the line. Mark C.
