Forsythe Racing to announce 2nd driver

UPDATE #2 To clear up what Mario Dominguez said at Homestead, it was not accurate that he did not have anything good to say about Champ Car. He said both the good side and the bad.

"It's sad to see, because it looked like the series was gaining some momentum," said Dominguez. "There are a lot of good things happening in the series, with the new car and some new venues. But I think they picked a bad time to stop spending money.

"The owners have worked so hard over the last three years to save the series, I don't understand why they seem to be quitting now," he added. "Everything is very close, but they don't understand the need to keep drivers who have won races, who the fans know as Champ Car drivers. It's difficult to accept."

03/29/07 To our surprise we are hearing that the team has signed their former driver Mario Dominguez for the first three Champ Car races (Vegas, Long Beach and Houston) despite a nasty split between him and the team a year ago. This information is unconfirmed, but last weekend at the IRL season opener Dominguez didn't have any good things to say about Champ Car, which led us to believe he was out of the running and that David Martinez would get the seat.

03/28/07 While all other media outlets were reporting that Forsythe Racing would only run one car this year AutoRacing1.com has, on numerous occasions, told its readers that the team will run a two car Champ Car team in 2007. The team will announce their second driver on Thursday and if you paid attention to our previous rumors you probably know who the driver alongside Paul Tracy will be.
