Penske to Grand-Am?

UPDATE Rumors circulated during Grand-Am's season finale at Miller Motorsports Park that Penske Racing would field a Daytona Prototype in the 2008 24 Hours of Daytona. However, team president Tim Cindric said Penske's sports car program has considered entering Grand Am's 24 Hours of Daytona event for "about the last three years or so" without doing so, and he isn't sure anything will change.

The reason: Mostly time.

"My focus is this third Cup team (for Sam Hornish Jr.)," he said. "And then, depending on what Sam does, I have to get an Indy-car program sorted out." AutoWeek
