Wurz heads for new F1 role in 2008?
After getting comprehensively outpaced by teammate Nico Rosberg this season, the Austrian driver is out of contract and not really a feature of the silly-season.
Wurz, 33, also revealed recently that he had reached some sort of "agreement" with Sir Frank Williams not to give any hints about their plans for next year.
It sparked rumors that Wurz, who raced for three seasons until 2000 and then spent six years as a full time McLaren and Williams test driver, could still be in the paddock next year but in a very different role.
"You are mentioning things that for the moment are not up for discussion," Wurz, renowned as a highly intelligent, analytical and technically-minded driver, told the Austrian publication Ã-3.
"Frank and I have agreed not to speak about my future. We are talking, including about what might happen in the future, but I do not want to talk about it (with the press)," he added.
Revealingly, however, Wurz hinted that his future "has nothing to do" with the Fernando Alonso factor — a statement that any other driver on the market would be unlikely to repeat at present.
"It is about team-internal things, which are to be discussed between Frank and myself, but I do not want to go into too much detail.
"I am not having fun making your readers wait; it is not tactics or anything but just an agreement that I respect, because Frank is my boss and he wants it like that."
