Winslow to drive for Conquest?

UPDATE This rumor is downgraded to 'false' today. Eric Bachelart told AutoRacing1.com that "James Winslow is not ready and needs more testing in Champ Car, plus we do not have a 2nd car to run at this time. We are very hopeful that we will have a 2-car team in 2008. We are much better off now than we were a year ago and it seems there is more sponsorship available from outside the USA than in."

10/01/07 According to this crash.net article, British driver James Winslow will join the Conquest team at the two remaining Champ Car races this season – at Surfers Paradise and the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez – and is hoping that the two parties can move towards working together in the future. Winslow tested with the team at Sebring last week.

“Joining Conquest at Surfers will give me a chance to really get a feel for Champ Car and learn about the strategies and fuel-saving tactics involved in being successful," he said, “It's a great opportunity to get a sneak preview of where I'd like to be in 2008."

And this rumor says that Nelson Philippe will also drive for Conquest at Surfers. If true, that might be an 18th car on the grid.
