Gibbs or Waltrip is lying over GM secrets

J.D. Gibbs, who runs Gibbs Racing for his owner/father, is denying that his team has provided any engine help to Toyota teams. Michael Waltrip apparently told a TV reporter that his hot run at Talladega was helped in part by some help from the Gibbs team. Gibbs said no way. The Gibbs teams are moving to Toyota next season when their contract with General Motors runs out at the end of this season. The issue is particularly sensitive since car owner Bill Davis, while still under contract with Dodge a few years ago and awaiting the end of that deal in order to move to Toyota, was taken to court by Dodge over technology issues. [Editor's Note: The Toyota F1 team was accused of producing an almost exact copy of the Ferrari F1 car a few years ago. Meanwhile both they and Honda continue to get eaten alive in F1 by the Germans and the small little Italian team called Ferrari. Allegations that Toyota has to use secrets from competing manufacturers to win won't do much to improve their image in the racing world.]
