Overheard in Mexico City

We are hearing that both PKV Racing and the Forsythe Championship Racing Champ Car teams are gearing up to both run 3-car teams in 2008…….Another rumor making the rounds is that although the RuSPORT team is no more after this weekend, owner Dan Pettit will probably buy into another team and that team will run a 2nd car, so there will be no car-count loss as a result of RuSPORT dissolving…….We hear that Alex Zanardi will test a hand-control Champ Car with PKV Racing in the off-season. It will just be for fun and Alex will not be returning to Champ Car as a regular driver so nothing else should be read into this test……Look for Alex Zanardi to compete in next year's NY City Marathon with a redesigned bike. He is going to have to train hard because he finished 15 minutes behind this year's winner, who had a different bike than some of the others…..The Dubai race will not happen in 2008, but things are looking quite positive for 2009. It will be a street race and not out at the remote Autodrome. Construction in the area where the race will be held is an issue right now with the new convention center just a big hole in the ground right now. Mark C. reporting from Mexico
