Hugo Boss wants to stay with Alonso

(GMM) McLaren sponsor Hugo Boss is keen to follow Fernando Alonso to his new team in 2008.

While the long association between Ron Dennis' team and the fashion company is not in doubt, it is reported that Hugo Boss officials in Spain are keen that Alonso continues to carry the logos of the German brand in 2008.

"We would like to keep him," Hugo Boss' director for Spain and Portugal, Briac Pinault, told the El Mundo Deportivo newspaper.

He clarified that whether or not it is possible depends on which team Alonso, who has split with McLaren after a single season in 2007, selects for 2008.

"I am sad that he has left the team," Pinault admitted. "We are very happy with him and we have a great relationship."

It is understood that Hugo Boss is seeking a private arrangement with Alonso similar to the one agreed with David Coulthard when the Scot left McLaren in 2004.
