Final Weekend TV Ratings
Newgarden won in the rain at Barber but hardly anyone saw it – on both Sunday (first 22 laps) or Monday's finale |
Final TV ratings from last weekend. NBCSN delivered IndyCar another home run with a rating so low they don't bother reporting it – when it gets less than 300,000 viewers we assume they equate it to a test pattern. The NBCSN broadcast personnel always do a good job, but hardly any sports fans watch NBCSN so the ratings will always be minuscule, sending sponsors running for the exits. The new IndyCar TV contract should have gone to ABC/ESPN with ABC/ESPN hiring the broadcast team away from NBCSN. That would have been the best scenario for IndyCar.
