Ex-F1 Stars to spearhead Peugeot’s Le Mans assault?

While an official announcement has yet to be made we hear that Franck Montagny, Ricardo Zonta and Alex Wurz have signed for Peugeot to compete in this years 24 Heures Du Mans.

Various insiders have stated that it could be only one of the three that gets the drive but some have said that both would compete in the 908 HDi FAP. Montagny hinted to AutoRacing1.com at this past weekend's Champ Car Sebring test that he would drive for Peugeot at LeMans.

As for Zonta, well, he has admitted that no contract has been signed as of yet but that he will test the car again in a few weeks following his first outing at Paul Ricard in January. If all goes well during that test then he hopes to sign a deal with the French giant and if he get his wish he will double up his commitments this season along with a Grand-Am campaign with Krohn Racing.

Peugeot Sport Team Manager, Serge Saulnier, has however refused to confirm nor deny any of these rumors and will not comment further until the official driver announcement to be held in Paris on the 15th February.
