The contact damaged the car's suspension and about 100 meters down the backstraight the car turned right into the outside wall.

It's bad enough for the team that it's most popular driver James Hinchcliffe will not be in the Indianapolis 500 after being bumped from the field on Bump Day, but now his teammate, rookie Robert Wickens, crashed his number-6 car in practice this afternoon.
"I just lost the rear of the car in Turn 2. I caught it and then lost it and then caught it again, but by then I just ran out of track and brushed the wall," Wickens said outside the infield care center at IMS. "Pretty bad suspension damage on both sides."
