Indy 500 Could See Record Temperatures

The fans and drivers will be wilting on Sunday

Sunday's forecast for the Indianapolis 500 calls for a high temperature of 92 degrees Fahrenheit, just two short of the "record for the warmest high temperature on race day" set in 1937.

The '12 and 1953 race days each had a high of 91 degrees, and the high has "reached 90 degrees or more just six times in the race's history."

The "average high since the race began in 1911 is 77.4 degrees, and the average temperature is 67.3 degrees." Rain "shouldn't be a factor" for this year's edition
