Ferrari and red Bull have opted for an aggressive Formula 1 tire strategy for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, while Mercedes has picked the fewest amount of Hypersofts following its struggles in Monaco.
The Italian outfit, which sits 18 points adrift of early constructors’ championship leaders Mercedes, has favored Pirelli’s fastest-ever F1 compound – which debuted at last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix – for the next race on June 10, with drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen both selecting eight sets of Hypersofts each, along with three sets of Ultrasofts and two Supersofts.
