Forsythe Racing eyes IndyCar entry

UPDATE This story was first reported by AutoRacing1.com earlier this week. Today Autosport.com confirmed this rumor by reporting that according to team manager Kenny Siwieck, who is much in evidence at this weekend's Mid-Ohio event in the IndyCar, ALMS paddocks, "We've got a Formula Atlantic deal this year and we're planning on going ahead with that, we announced the Indy Lights program last week and we're looking at both ALMS and the IndyCar Series."

"I'd say the ALMS and IndyCar programs are about 95 percent done."

Siwieck confirmed that Forsythe intended to contest both series rather than choosing one or the other.

"Our plan is to treat this like a business, and that means diversifying our efforts to take advantage over all the opportunities that come our way," he said.

07/15/08 According to AutoRacing1.com sources, Gerald Forsythe is looking to enter two cars in the 2009 IndyCar Series assuming adequate sponsorship is found. We hear this will be in addition to their LMP2 ALMS, and Indy Lights programs. They will remain in the Atlantic Series this year, but another rumor on these pages has Forsythe wanting to sell his share of the Atlantic program and move his efforts clearly under the Tony George IRL banner. We hear he may even consider bringing back Paul Tracy as one of his drivers in 2009.
