Secret to Newgarden’s speed at Road America revealed

Josef Newgarden and Robert Wickens were the two fastest cars at Road America Friday and it's easy to see why. Look at Newgarden's rear wing compared to one of the Andretti cars that were slugs on Friday. Newgarden is running far less downforce on the long Road America straights and it's paid off.

Newgarden
Newgarden – fastest – top element of rear wing laid flattest Wickens – fast – top element of rear wing laid back
Rossi - way too much wing
Rahal – Slow – top element of rear wing too vertical Rossi – needs to lay down top element of rear wing
