No changes to AGR lineup

Andretti Green Racing likely will have its current driver lineup next year, team co-owner Michael Andretti told the Indy Star newspaper Sunday at Infineon Raceway. All three owners, including Kevin Savoree and Kim Green, will again be at the helm with Marco Andretti expected to join Tony Kanaan with a new contract. Danica Patrick and rookie Hideki Mutoh also will return. Marco joined the team in 2006. "It's just a few (details)," said the elder Andretti, who is not part of the negotiations due to his personal ties…….which is rather odd given the fact that AGR doesn't hold a test and hire the fastest drivers out there.

Similar to the Vision Racing team where nepotism is rampant, American racers will always be soft and never make it in F1 because rather than have to land a ride based on skill, you get it based on your family ties or how much money you bring to the table. If IndyCar Racing wants to be taken seriously in the global market, nepotism must cease and every driver must earn their ride based on skill. Can you imagine Joe Gibbs' son. J.D. Gibbs, becoming Quarterback for the Washington Redskins because his father was the coach? Would not happen unless J.D. was the best Quarterback out there. In sports it's all about the best athletes. IndyCar Racing is a sport isn't it? Maybe we are all fooling ourselves.
