Davidson would accept role as test driver
(GMM) The paddock of the inaugural European Grand Prix at Valencia, former Super Aguri racer Anthony Davidson was keeping up appearances with the F1 decision-makers.
At the Spanish race to commentate for British radio, the 29-year-old – seemingly a Formula One veteran but not even with 30 Grand Prix under his belt – made it clear he hasn't given up on returning to the sport sooner or later.
With his Super Aguri adventure now over following the closure of the team earlier this season, Davidson told Switzerland's Motorsport Aktuell that, if he cannot immediately reclaim a race cockpit, "I would accept a place as a test driver."
Between 2001 and 2006, Briton Davidson tested with the works Honda squad, which was initially known as BAR.
Since the Super Aguri collapse, he returned to the F1 cockpit with a one-off Honda test run.
