Mercedes brought the latest Aldo Costa car upgrades to the Austrian GP – a host of aero updates – and straight off the Mercedes drivers showed great speed.

On an overcast but dry morning in the Austrian Alps, Lewis Hamilton turned the fastest lap at 1m04.839 to beat his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas by 0.127s in practice 1 Friday morning.

Max Verstappen was third quick for Red Bull 0.233s back while Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) was 3/10ths behind Hamilton in 4th.

Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top-5 in the second Red Bull 6/10ths back but on the hardest rubber this weekend.
