Wheldon’s future up in the air
UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' with the announcement today by Target Chip Ganassi Racing that Dario Franchitti will replace Dan Wheldon in the No. 10 IndyCar next year.

Dan Wheldon, who obviously occupies the seat that Ganassi was shopping to Kanaan as Scott Dixon is under contract for 2009 and is on the verge of winning his second career series title.
Compared to Dixon, Wheldon hasn't had the best of seasons the past two years, but he still has two wins in each of his three seasons in Ganassi's No. 10 car.
It's likely salary is the sticking point, and Wheldon didn't sound like a driver set on his future on Friday.
