Floundering A1GP to cancel more races

UPDATE Only 6 cars have arrived in South Africa for the race as we write this, the rest are coming Friday so the first practice has been delayed. Another sign that bills are not getting paid and under the covers the series is in trouble.

02/19/09 We have long questioned the viability of the A1GP series – how it could survive with such huge costs and so few fans and TV ratings. Well it appears the calendar of the A1GP series has once again changed. The scheduled race in Mexico City at the end of March has been canceled by the organizers . "As soon as the A1GP series receives the necessary approvals by the FIA, a new date will be announced," it was simply mentioned in a press release of the A1GP series. Yeah right. With so few Mexicans in attendance last year, the race was a money pit.

The A1GP racing calendar for the 2008/2009 season has already been changed several times. The season opener at Mugello was completely deleted, the race in Indonesia had to be canceled and the A1GP season finale at Interlagos has not yet been confirmed by the series managers.
