Andretti back with US Concrete and the #98 car |
The familiar red, grey and white colors of U.S. Concrete will paint the racing machine of Marco Andretti for the future of IndyCar Series competition as the ready-mixed concrete company will serve as lead primary sponsor of the third-generation driver through a multi-year agreement. The partnership will see the Dallas-based company ride on the No. 98 car for seven races each season, including the Indianapolis 500.
U.S. Concrete first appeared on the race car of Andretti at the Phoenix Open Test in February 2018 revealing the new partnership between the leader in concrete manufacturing and green building and race-winning team, Andretti Autosport.
“It’s great to be able to announce this extension for 2019 and beyond," said Andretti Autosport CEO Michael Andretti. “Our companies share many values, and both serve as leaders in our industries. We’ve built a great foundation over the last year and are proud to continue to represent U.S. Concrete both on and off the racetrack."
“We truly value our relationship with Marco and Andretti Autosport," said Bill Sandbrook, chairman, president and CEO of U.S. Concrete. “The ability to team up with a world class driver, team and organization who share our commitment to safety, operational excellence and winning, provides us a unique value enhancing partnership – unparalleled in our industry."
Nazareth-native, Andretti will again pilot the No. 98 Andretti-Herta Autosport with Curb-Agajanian entry in the IndyCar Series championship.
“We’re really excited about the extended support from U.S. Concrete," said Marco Andretti. “We’ve gotten to know their team really well and they fit in perfectly with the Andretti family of partners. I’m looking forward to continuing my IndyCar journey and am really hoping this next year is the one with an Indy 500 win, along with many others."
The 2019 season will mark the 14th year the younger Andretti has competed in the IndyCar Series, making his debut in 2006 while winning rookie of the year honors. Andretti’s resume consists of 213 starts, two wins (Sonoma/’06, Iowa/’11) and 20 podium finishes. Andretti has earned one pole position and six top-10 finishes in the current 2018 season.
Marco Andretti and the No. 98 U.S. Concrete / Curb Honda will join teammates Ryan Hunter-Reay (No. 28 DHL Honda), Alexander Rossi (No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda) and Zach Veach (No. 26 Group 1001 Honda) for next season’s IndyCar competition.
The 2019 IndyCar Series schedule will be released at a later date.
