Jos Verstappen to join Pescarolo Sport?

In an interview on his website and on the Dutch television program “Holland Sport" Jos Verstappen confirmed his plans to race in this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. After winning the LMP2 category at Le Mans in 2008 the Dutchman is keen to return to the Circuit de la Sarthe.

During the television broadcast Verstappen, who was there with his son Max, was asked what he would like to do and the Dutchman confirmed he would like to do Le Mans again and that he had been in contact with some people about racing there in June.

On his personal website more details about the deal were given. Verstappen said: “I think I have the possibility to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I would love to do it, but I don’t know if I should do it though. I want to race in a competitive car and that’s not clear for me at the moment."

When asked about his plans and the recent withdrawal of the Epsilon Euskadi entry Verstappen had an interesting answer. “It became apparent that Epsilon would be a difficult story. But there is another team. I have been in contact with Pescarolo Sport only last week. They are still looking for a driver in their LMP1 team and really want to have me in their car. Perhaps I could test for them at the end of the month. Next week we’ll be in touch with them again."
