Brumos is Grand-Am’s favored team

UPDATE #2 Correction: The Brumos Grand-Am team uses a Porsche Motorsport engine. The Spirit of Daytona team is the only one using the Lozano "Porsche Based" motor. You do have to hand it to Brumos. Their fastest race lap was a 1/2 second faster than Penske with the same motor/chassis.

04/27/09 Rumor has it that Jim France pays 75% of all the bills for Brumos, he considers it his team. He paid Lozano for the engine development and J.C. France's Brumos ride cost him about $3m a year.

04/27/09 It's pretty obvious that Grand-Am has chosen Brumos Racing as the team they want to win the G-A title this year. First, they get caught cheating to win the biggest race of the year in the Rolex 24 and get penalized only three points. Now Brumos' David Donohue blatantly punts Scott Pruett on a re-start with three laps to go (it didn't even look like Donohue attempted to brake) to take out Pruett and Max Angelelli and he doesn't get penalized in any form. Worse yet, it gave Brumos the series points lead. Why not just award Brumos and Porsche the championship right now and not waste everyone's time?
