Audi to withdraw from LeMans
The German motorsports newspaper "Motor Sport Aktuell" reports that Audi might be withdrawing from Le Mans due to a recent change within the rules. Apparently Audi received a Fax from the ACO concerning several rule changes, one of which was on tires. Recently Audi had a 32 hr. test at Paul Ricard, and they will go there again for a new test of 30 hrs., supposedly to test the ACO changes.
Another rumor we hear is that Audi might drop the development of the R15 TDI and DTM R14 Plus after Le Mans in order to concentrate on the R8 LMS GT3 Project.
Given the economic climate, will GT3 be the future for German manufacturers, or is Audi cutting back to use the money for a rumored possible IndyCar effort?
