A1GP Dublin race possible

Adam Carroll believes track designing firm Tilke Engineering are planning a visit to Dublin, opening up the possibility that the Irish capital could be set to host an A1GP event.

Team Ireland clinched the 2008/09 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport with Carroll behind the wheel at Brands Hatch earlier this month, and the Portadown racer suspects his home country may be about to book a date on the series' calendar.

Tilke Engineering, led by world famous circuit designer Hermann Tilke, are planning to send a two-man team to analyze the possibility of running a street race around Dublin City.

"My understanding is that Tilke are coming to have a look," Carroll told the Irish News of the World. "They are big, big players in the terms of circuit design.

"They are coming to view Dublin as a potential venue for a street track, which would be fantastic for A1GP and Motorsport in general, especially for Ireland.

"It would be a great venue. It works in so many countries and I have no doubt it would work in Dublin."
