Tracy to finish out year for KV Racing and Foyt

A. J. Foyt Racing said Tuesday that veteran star Paul Tracy will substitute for Vitor Meira–likely out for the rest of the season after breaking his back in last weekend's Indianapolis 500–this coming weekend at the Milwaukee Mile, and both parties say they would like to add more races to their 2009 collaboration.

"Well, I'm going to talk to Paul and see what he really wants to do. Sure, we'd like to have him for all the races," Foyt said Wednesday during a teleconference.

Both Tracy and Foyt noted that they have not had much time to discuss the matter, as Tracy had been traveling home to Las Vegas for the last two days. But the driver agreed he wants more seat time.

"[Obviously] I want to race as much as I can," Tracy said. "I'm a race driver that wants to race and wants to win. And A. J. is the same. So we'll see how this weekend goes and then go from there."

Tracy has already signed on with KV Racing for the Toronto and Edmonton races, so Foyt would have to find another driver for those two races.
