Scotland GP within 10 years

(GMM) Talks about Scotland joining an F1 calendar of the future are taking place and could result in Glasgow hosting a grand prix within ten years, according to Paul Morrison.

The Scot is the promoter of the new music concerts meets grand prix racing concept 'F1 Rocks', and he has told the Daily Record newspaper that he is now trying to convince Bernie Ecclestone of his plans for a Scottish GP.

"I'm speaking to Bernie about it," Morrison confirmed, although admitting that the government is unlikely to offer any state support.

"We have the roads for it. Next year is when it gets fun because Mr. Ecclestone is serious about adding new countries.

"Just because it hasn't happened before it does not wash with me that it can't happen. That is why we will see a formula one race in Scotland in the future, certainly within the decade," he added.

Morrison, whose company All The Worlds has signed a deal with Universal Music, said there will be around six F1 Rocks concerts in 2010.
