Penske to drop Marlboro colors for 2010?

Penske Racing confirmed Verizon Wireless as the sponsor of its third full-season Indy car, a black-and-red machine to be driven by Will Power. But it might not be the only new look for Roger Penske's team.

Longtime cancer stick producer Philip Morris is reducing its involvement with the team through its Marlboro brand, and that could affect how the cars of Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe look in 2010 and beyond.

Team president Tim Cindric said the traditional Marlboro colors could be gone.

"We have looked at changing this over the last few years, especially now that the international races require (the two cars) to look different," he said.

A decision on the paint scheme will be made in January, he said. IndyCar.com
