Having taken part in the Le Mans Series with son Greg last year, 1992 World Champion Nigel Mansell is now looking to race in this year's prestigious Le Mans 24 Hour event after purchasing a share of the Beechdean Motorsport sports car team.

With Beechdean Mansell Motorsport now established, the outfit will join the LMP1 class in 2010 with a Ginetta-Zytek Z09R, with an appearance at Le Mans now on the cards; Greg will be joined by brother Leo throughout the season, with father Nigel set to join at certain races.

"I'm very happy to announce this partnership between myself and Beechdean," said Mansell Senior, who won the Formula 1 title with Williams in 1992. "The team comes fresh to the Le Mans Series with an impeccable pedigree and full support from Zytek.

"I'm very excited about 2010 and the prospect of racing with both of my sons for the first time. I can confirm that I will be racing with Leo and Greg during the season and, if we receive an entry, we will also be racing at Le Mans.

"We begin testing early in the New Year and 2010 promises to be an exciting and dynamic year – we can't wait to get started!"
