UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' with this news item.
05/14/10 Dover Int'l Speedway President & CEO Denis McGlynn "expects to see vacant seats" at Sunday's Autism Speaks 400. McGlynn said, "Nobody's selling out. When you see 40,000 empty seats at Bristol (Tenn.), it tells you it's the economy and the impact it's having on ticket buyers." Races at the track, which seats 140,000, "haven't sold out for several years." Some seats "have been closed for races and covered with advertising banners" PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS
