Williams team has secured most of 2011 budget
The Williams team has already secured most of the finances required for the 2011 season after successfully making a profit last year. The news comes despite the loss of major sponsor The Royal Bank of Scotland, which will depart at the end of this season. Although Williams has failed to finish in the top three of the Constructors' Championship since 2003, the Grove-based outfit continues to remain healthy from an economic point of view.
"This year I am expecting results at least as good as in 2009, very similar," Chief Executive Officer Adam Parr explained in Turkey after financial results were revealed for the period stretching from the beginning of December 2008 to the end of December 2009.
"For 2011, we've got pretty much where we typically are at this time of the year; the majority of our budget is covered for next year but we are in discussions with current and potential partners to build that up.
"I don't know if any team has got all of its budget covered for next year, unless somebody is literally writing a check."
