Dario to renew his contract
Dario Franchitti |
It is widely known that Dario Franchitti only negotiates single-year contracts. With his second Indy 500 win and a season that has put him in good position in the championship standings once again, despite tougher competition requiring increased demands of the Scot driver, it looks like he will be around for a while longer.
"Chip told me, you’re not going to retire anytime soon, so I guess we’ll start talking soon…I love driving in this series, I love where this series is going … and I still love what I’m doing. Long may it continue."
Franchitti's Indy win and consistency, along with his tenacity (such as his drive in St. Pete and Barber) has put him second behind Will Power in the standings.
Franchitti is in his 14th season in the top level North American open-wheel racing.
