Monticello Motor Club still in running for F1 race
Rumor has it that the Monticello Motor Club, located about a 90 minute drive from New York City, is still in line to get the USGP F1 race should the City of Austin, Texas deal fall apart. Austin has promised Ecclestone a lot of money for a 10-year contract. Well administrations change over time when the incumbent party loses an election, and with city, state and federal tax revenues down significantly because of the recession, one has to question whether an expensive purpose built F1 track ever see the light of day in Austin, this on top of the huge sanction fees demanded by the FOM and Bernie Ecclestone.
