IRL may lose 7-11 to NASCAR
Will the IRL lose yet another sponsor to the higher TV ratings NASCAR has to offer? |
We heard a rumor that Richard Childress Racing is talking to 7-11 about them moving over to sponsor the #29 Sprint Cup car next year. We would imagine that 7-11 may not get their money's worth by being in NASCAR, as they will spend quite a bit more, and we are not sure their sales will increase enough to cover the much larger investment for NASCAR. Plus, what company can spend marketing dollars going to Bristol, Pocono, etc. twice! It is hard to justify going to these places once, let alone twice. They have a loyal fan following in the IndyCar Series, but the call of the high TV ratings NASCAR has to offer as compared to the IRL on Versus, and the justification to move may be just too great.
