IRL Vice President Resigns

UPDATE Confirming what we heard yesterday, this rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. John Lewis, VP/Sales for the Izod IndyCar Series, said today that he is leaving to take a position outside of motorsports. Lewis has been with the IndyCar Series for 16 years and was a prominent member of the sales and marketing team that sold Izod on the IndyCar entitlement last year. The Daily

07/21/10 Rumor has it that John Lewis, who has held many positions with the IRL and the Indy Speedway, most recently as VP of League Development, and who worked closely with Brian Barnhart, resigned from the IRL Yesterday.
