On Wednesday night 2018 Indy 500 winner Will Power received his Baby Borg in Detroit along with team owner Roger Penske.

“Everything that goes with winning is a gift that keeps on giving," he said. “You do all these events, all these things keep reminding you of something you worked hard for."

“It’s added motivation and give in the belly to keep succeeding," he said. “At this point in your career you’re focused getting the most out of it because you realize this is not forever. You enjoy the preparation and everything that goes into making this happen. That’s all fun and good stuff and it’s a goal you’re working towards. That’s enjoying it.

“To be up there with Roger receiving the Baby Borg was something special."

It marked Penske’s 17th Baby Borg as a winning car owner.

“The Borg-Warner trophy is an iconic trophy," Penske said. “Each year we go there knowing it’s not about how what we’ve done in the past but what we can do this year. It’s not my trophy, but it’s the trophy of our people."

But this win meant something extra to Penske, because of what it meant to Power, whom the owner called “a great soldier" for overcoming adversity throughout his career.

“To see him win it with the outpouring of excitement for him and his family was special," Penske said. “I’d have to say it was the best year ever."
